Job duties including but not limited to:

  • Drive and execute lean initiatives across the entire organization including, value-stream mapping, kaizen events, TPM, 6S, visual factory, SMED, Kanban, 3P and other lean tools and principles

  • Under general supervision, responsible for facilitation of lean events such as: line balancing, quick-changeover, VSM, 3P, One-piece flow and leading teams through implementation and sustainment of improvements

  • Support projects such as reducing operating costs through cost reduction, improved process control, machine reliability, machine set-up times and introducing new products and processes

  • Support implementation of pull processes between manufacturing processes, distribution, and the supply chain. Ensure sustainability and improvement to inventory turns

  • Utilize problem solving methods such as: PDCA, DMAIC, 5 why, 8D, A3, Ishikawa diagram, and FMEA to address root causes and validate counter measures that prevent future recurrence

  • Support lean daily management by attending shift start up meetings, conducting Gemba observations, supporting idea generation and problem solving on the shop floor, driving 6S activities

  • Mentor and coach process owners, process improvement leaders, and project teams in the use of improvement tools and methodology to ensure timely completion of projects.

  • Acts as change agent to instill Lean culture throughout the organization while also approaching the frontline workers with humility

  • Create processes and metrics to track the performance of lean activities and ensure sustainability

  • Identify gaps in performance against Best in Class and lead improvement initiatives that close said gaps as it relates to service level performance, inventory turns improvement, and labor productivity results

  • Develops strong relationships built on trust and respect with leaders and employees at all levels and cross functionally

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) with a minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering background preferred but not required.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills: Formal Lean training i.e., Lean Practitioner, Kaizen Facilitator, LSSGB/LSSBB preferred
