Job Description:
Caterpillar’s world class supply chain is a critical strategic advantage that enables us to maintain an edge in the industries and markets we serve. To aid in maintaining this leadership position, we have established the Supply Center of Excellence (CoE) team within the Strategic Procurement & Planning Division (SPPD) where we can best leverage this advantage. If you have the personal drive to help take our supply processes to next level, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join this team as a Solutions Owner II. The Supply CoE’s vision is to leverage technology and data to create consistent, agile, best supplier quality, velocity and financial practices, to ensure Caterpillar supply chain sets the bar for our industry. Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Lead as Process Owner of advancing Enterprise Supply Risk Sensing, and will work directly with a wide range of SPPD & enterprise representatives including presenting recommendations to senior divisional leaders.
Design, develop, deploy, and monitor assigned capabilities that produce consistent business results.
Ensure successful deployment through training and coaching users to drive adoption and continuous improvement.
Work together with Project Leaders and other Solution Owners to provide input specific to the functional scope and capabilities, business processes & configuration, costing, and establish solution offerings.
Collects and interprets voice of the customer information to direct new and enhanced service offerings.
Contribute to strategic initiatives such as the development of standardized best practices, offerings, services and develop the associated tools & training.
Recommend areas for proactive service offering improvements.
Successfully design and develop solutions, collaborating with senior stakeholders, and business users to collect VOB/VOC, business requirements, and prepare implementation plans for successful deployment.
Global representative focused on the identification, prioritization and validation of supplier operational risks with the goal of preventing and mitigating supply disruptions.
Drive platform innovation and user experience/interface with infographics.
Develop Long-term Strategy and Execution Plans with clear expectations.
Utilize data and analytics to expose, clarify and prioritize potential risks.
Mitigate disruption with operational discipline embedded.
Collaborate with internal/external partners.
Leverage best practice and develop risk network relationships to produce proper escalation measures.
Connect cross-functional teams such as: Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Financial, Legal, Labor.
Drive continuous improvement in the process and tools, pursuing highest possible in efficiency and output, challenge status quo.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree – OR 12 years’ experience in supply chain or procurement
7 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement or closely aligned analyst roles that contribute to a strong understanding of supply chain or procurement
Top Candidates will also have:
10 years of practical experience serving in supply chain, procurement or closely aligned analyst roles that contribute to a strong understanding of supply chain or procurement.
Previous 6 Sigma Greenbelt/Black Belt experience preferred / Proven Project Leader.
Strong understanding of analytics and sensing, having utilized these skills to solve complex business problems with tangible results.
Facilitation skills demonstrated through your ability to manage projects, lead discussions and guide teams though change leading to the delivery and execution of high impact initiatives.
Demonstrated resiliency in working with internal and external partners.
A good understanding of LEAN processes and how to identify and drive out loss across the scope of initiatives and across the network.
Proficiency in English is required. Local site language preferred.
