MATHEMATICS TEACHER

The successful candidate we are seeking is comfortable teaching any level of college preparatory classes to join our school. As a high school upper level math teacher you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students in advanced math topics, such as pre-calculus, calculus, finite math, geometry, and statistics. Your role will involve creating engaging lesson plans, delivering effective instruction, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach 5 sections of math classes
• Work directly with math department as part of a math PLC
• Contribute to the larger school community
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and

education standards

• Effectively communicate complex mathematical concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Utilize various instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and

abilities

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance data
• Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation,

engagement, and establishes a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Provide constructive feedback to students on their academic progress and areas for

improvement

• Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress and address any

concerns or questions they may have

• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators
• Stay up to date with advancements in the field of mathematics education through

professional development opportunities

• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas to students
• Strong organizational skills to manage classroom materials and assess student work

efficiently

• Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Upper level math experience preferred
• Deep and thorough knowledge of the subject matter
• Valid Indiana Teaching License preferred
• Experience using online resources and other technologies to enhance learning
• Experience within an educational and/or independent school environment
