We are looking for a dynamic Lead Tester to join our team at our headquarters in Washington, DC! The Lead Tester shall have a bachelor’s degree in a computer science/programming-related field. The Lead Tester shall determine regression test scope/content, write test scenarios to validate systems, write test reports to document test findings, use defect tracking tools to document test issues. The Lead Tester shall have 7-8 years’ experience with performing various test programs, including UAT and Deployment Testing. This is a primarily remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the limited supervision of a Project Manager according to company policies and project specifications
- Utilizing Jira software, lead the testing staff in the creation of test plans, test cases, test scenarios specific to enhancements within the VBMS system
- Provide guidance for testing strategies, scope, and scenarios
- Coordinates issue tracking and resolution; proactively communicates issues with government staff through to resolution.
- Lead the testing staff in accomplishing testing objectives within the Veteran’s Benefit’s Management System (VBMS) to include User Acceptance testing and Regression testing
- Conduct regression testing to ensure adjacent functionality or other established functionality were not unexpectedly impacted by the system changes
- Write test reports to document test findings, using defect tracking tools to document test issues
- Utilizing Agile methodology, participate in daily standups to assess team progress and identify roadblocks
- Utilizing system documentation (to include User Guides and Architecture), become an expert in the Veteran’s Benefits Management System (VBMS) system
- Analyze and review existing systems and program logic to become familiar with the existing product features
- Act as the primary point of contact with government customers for VBMS testing
- Provide status reports on technical progress per contract deliverable requirements or as needed to communicate progress to the customer
- Evaluate project requirements and determine related technical goals to accomplish required objectives
- Ensure all contract and technical milestones are completed on schedule
- Support the documentation of manuals, user guides, and/or regular status reports
- Provides strategic advice for business processes and solutions
- Understands and applies the system development methodology
- Communicates status, business impacts, and system and scope changes to team members, business partners, sponsors, management, and other interested parties
- Works with business and technical staff to perform effective root-cause analysis and resolution
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a computer science/programming-related field
- Experience determining regression test scope/content, writing test scenarios to validate systems, writing test reports to document test findings, and using defect tracking tools to document test issues
- Strong Jira knowledge and experience in an Agile environment
- Minimum of 7-8 years experience performing various test programs, including UAT and Deployment Testing
- Requires ability to analyze complex business requirements, perform root-cause analysis, propose effective solutions, and understand and apply business vision and direction throughout the test process
- Full understanding of end-to-end test software development lifecycle
- Generate, maintain, and evolve test plans, cases, defect tracking and reporting throughout the testing lifecycle to ensure continuous improvement is integrated into service provided
- Clear, concise communications and facilitate root cause analysis and the development and implementation of sustainable solutions for every test execution
- Highly Proficient in using Microsoft Office Professional products
- Previous experience at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs
- Experience with Veteran’s Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Experience using OBIEE, Power BI, and PL/SQL
- IV&V experience
- Microsoft SharePoint Online
- Clearance - None but able to obtain a Public Trust
