What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTANT position at Catholic Charities?
Community Maternity Services is looking for a Part-Time with benefits (20 hours per week Monday through Friday) ACCOUNTANT
Duties include, but are not limited to: Financial recordkeeping and reporting; maintenance of General Ledger; journalizing Bi-weekly payroll to General Ledger; monthly Vouchering of all programs; preparation of audit work papers; supervision/preparation of bank reconciliations; interaction with funding sources, staff and vendors as necessary; accounts receivable collections; cash management; and assistance with the preparation of budgets and monthly and annual financial statements.
An Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred. Foster Care, Managed Care and Medicaid accounting and billing experience a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills; organizational skills and computer skills, experience with Fund-EZ is highly desirable. Other relevant experience includes computerized general ledgers, payroll, Excel spreadsheets and the monthly preparation of financial statements, as well as fiscal year-end audit preparation.
A valid NYS driver’s license and a validly insured and registered vehicle in good working order are also required.
Candidate must be physically able to walk up and down stairs as necessary; lift up to 40 pounds; demonstrate a full range of motion and be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
