Assists in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a physically present and immediately available Registered Nurse / Hospital Provider.
Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to perform the following tasks efficiently : perform / record vital signs, CPR, apply oxygen delivering systems, perform simple wound irrigation / direct pressure / dressings, prepare sterile field for suturing, assist provider with treatment when appropriate, apply restraints, clean medical equipment and prepare for sterilization, collect urine specimens, and phlebotomy
- Assists in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs
- Assists with patient transports and transfers
- Answer telephones, filing, greet patients / visitors, transcribe provider's orders, electronic data entry, and assist with documentation
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
None
Required Licensure and Certifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the ND Department of Health and Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Strong oral communications skills
Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
Strong critical thinking skills
Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes
Pay Range
$15.77 - $20.38 / hour
