Job Details

The Security Officer provides professional security observation and protective services throughout the Medical Center.

Responsibilities :

• Patrols the Hospital and grounds
• Monitors visitors, staff and patients
• Ability to cope with physical and emotional stress
• Utilizes discretion and diplomacy when enforcing the Medical Center's NO smoking policy
• Position is strenuous requiring extensive walking, working both indoor and outdoor in all types of weather. Light to heavy lifting may be required
• Requires possible restraint of patients, visitors and / or family members
• Escorts personnel to and from buildings as necessary
• Concentrates efforts on preserving peace, protecting persons / property, and safety issues by utilizing effective observation techniques
• Writes Security incident reports as required and performs other related duties as assigned
• Deals with outside agencies routinely (SCPD, DOH, OSHA) in a professional and appropriate manner

Requirements :

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or military required
• Must possess clean / valid driver's license
• Must meet Security Guard license, training and registration or be currently employed as a Police Officer in accordance with NYS law

Salary Range

USD - USD / Hr.
