Company Overview:
Cavalier Coaches is a federally-regulated, family owned motor coach business that was originally started to complement our fleet of over 250 school buses. We have grown slowly and steadily over the last 25 years and currently operate 17 motor coaches out three terminals in Southern Minnesota/Northern Iowa – Owatonna MN, Albert Lea, MN and Mason City, IA.
Position Description:
We are currently looking for part-time and full-time, professional motor coach drivers to join our team.
The Motor Coach Operator is the primary customer service representative with our valued customers. The drivers are the face of the company! They must be able to interact and transport our customers while traveling to designated destinations. The applicant must be self-motivated, work independently, and perform efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision and direction. They must be friendly, level-headed, and present the appropriate image that represents our company.
Most of our day trips are within 3-4 hours of the dispatching terminal. However, over the last two years, we have operated in all 48 contiguous states and several Canadian provinces. The “extended trips” usually include driving in the downtown areas of major cities throughout the United States.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate 45-foot motor coaches for highway and city driving.
- Lift and load/unload luggage and equipment.
- Speak, write, and understand (completely) the English language to communicate with company dispatch personnel, address passengers on boarding procedures, safety emergency procedures, maintain control of passengers, and understand precise instructions.
- Must be able to effectively read, understand and interpret U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations and guidelines
- Must be able to work in an environment with a limited level of supervision and high-degree of autonomy. This requires adaptability to variable pressures and paces in any given workday.
Position Requirements: Class B CDL with passenger rating and no airbrake restriction.
- Basic maintenance on vehicles: Checking/adding oil and coolant, changing a fan or alternator belt, etc.
- Commercial Driving Experience: 2 years (over-the-road experience valued).
- A Solid Driving Record.
- Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
- Acceptable Criminal Background Check.

Full or Part Time Drivers can expect:
Between 10-50 hours per week
- Hourly Wages - between $17.00 - $18.75 per hour based on experience.
