JOB OVERVIEW
As a Bookkeeper you will oversee accounts receivable/payable and billing functions for the firm and direct the processing and payments, as well as oversee the processing of bi-monthly payroll using ADP.
JOB RESPONSIBILIITES
- Trains and oversees employees involved in billing functions
- Oversees reports regarding cash flow; ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
- Prepares and sends invoices and contracts.
- Interface with our clients in person, over the phone and via email - taking payments, answering billing inquiries, etc.
- Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of all personnel and payroll records in case of audits.
- Verifies hourly employee timesheets are correct and approved including undertime, overtime, call-offs, time-off requests or leave of absence.
- Responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll for all employees: salary exempt and hourly non-exempt
- Responsible for processing payments to support the compensation philosophy including bonuses, extra payments, distributions etc.
- Inputs new hires payroll and tax information into ADP
- Performs other related duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATION
Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in electronic billing systems: Ledes, Tymetrix and/or Legal Exchange
- Thorough understanding of accounts receivable/billing functions and payroll processing
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in high-volume workload required (supporting a firm of 50 employees)
- Strong communication skills, including verbal and written
- Ability to manage and lead individuals including job training and career development
- Strong interpersonal skills required, including problem solving, team-work skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with employees and clients
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of client information
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education (degree(s) preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration

Experience (years of experience required)
- Three or four years of accounting and payroll experience
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment with some flexibility in schedule. Work may require some weekend and evening work depending on time of year
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on computer
