We are looking for an individual dedicated to reshaping the punitive culture of the Juvenile Justice System for youth through the use of restorative core values. These values involve empowerment, honesty, respect, healing, accountability, inclusiveness and problem solving. Schedule:
Looking for an applicant who is willing to work with the youth/families at a time that suits the youth and family needs on a flexible schedule. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position with rotating on-call responsibilities.
How you get to use your skills…..
Contribute to systemic change by providing youth with an alternative to detention through the use of intensive case management, restorative justice efforts, Restorative Circles and Motivational Interviewing as an evidenced-based tool to implement long-term behavior change
Serve as a leader in collaborative efforts to develop an individualized service plan that will drive the provision of restorative case management services and deliver in a manner that is trauma informed and strengths-based
Guide youth to identify their motivators for change through the application of a non-punitive approach to the juvenile system
Demonstrate an inclusive practice both in the office and in the field to support a diverse and accepting culture
Bachelor's Degree in a related Human Services field
Experience with youth demonstrating antisocial and delinquent behavior
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience working with children and families in a community-based or "in-home' setting
A strong belief in the capacity of people to grow and change
Possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to appreciate and encourage diversity, and understand the concept of cultural trauma as it applies to individual and family functioning
Physical Requirements:
Driving to and from appointments and activities as assigned.
Word processing: Including responding to emails, completing computerized documentation.
Lifting of Agency file books - weighing approximately 6-8 lbs each - 5 inch binders. File in them as needed, including sorting paperwork, hole punching, opening and closing of binder rings.
Completing paperwork, such as copying and stapling.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Walking distances.
Walking up and down stairs inside/outside.
