Public Relations & Communications Manager
Serves as a liaison between the Nation and the public.
Develops and maintains a positive public image for the organization through public-facing communication.
Writes, reviews, and/or distributes press releases and other public-facing communication.
Responds to information requests from media contacts.
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, consumers, government employees, and public interest groups.
Arranges interviews for company’s executives and management.
Evaluates advertising campaigns to ensure consistency with the organization’s public relations strategy.
Develops and/or executes social media and content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image.
Oversees and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization.
Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, email, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
Promotes and attends special events and functions; promotes and reports on corporate milestones and activities such as company goals and projects; new products or services; community service activities; and new hires, promotions, and retirements.
Arranges for photography and/or press coverage for special events.
Attends trade shows and community fairs and staffs the company booth.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of public relations principles and strategies.
Excellent public speaking skills.
Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for external publications.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with an ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts and outlets.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
