Job Description
Cazenovia CSD is currently recruiting for a Payroll Coordinator.
This position is Monday through Friday throughout the 12-month calendar year and pays in a wage range of $40,000 to $50,000 per year; commensurate upon experience and NYS civil service examination.
Qualified candidates must be able to provide verifiable previous experience in payroll, as well as demonstrate knowledge of basic office procedures.
Skills and requirements:
- Prepare payroll including all salary calculations, deductions, payroll reconciliation and transmittal of direct deposit and all other electronic payroll information
- Maintains and updates employee records related to payroll/HR and employee/retiree benefits
- Maintains and tracks employee attendance data related to illness, personal leave, vacation, bereavement or disability
- Conducts new hire and exit interviews
- Aids employees in completing payroll and benefits forms and answering of questions
- Monitors health, dental and vision insurance benefit programs including the billing process for retirees and persons covered under COBRA. Also determines Medicare eligibility and processes Medicare reimbursements
- Completes monthly civil service reporting requirements and provides proper notification of changes related to new employees, salaries or status
- Maintains disability and life insurance coverage and deductions and the related record keeping, correspondence and processing of applications
- Maintains records and files reports in accordance with NYS retirement systems, worker’s compensation, unemployment and department of labor requirements
- Prepares, reconciles and submits W-2 and other payroll tax related forms
- Prepare reports, research questions and provide payroll/HR related information as required
