Position Description
Overall Responsibilities:
The Logistics Analyst gathers data and conducts analysis with the goal of improving transportation operations. This position identifies underperforming areas, makes recommendations, and implements improvements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate freight and logistics services in cooperation with transportation management
- Participate, as directed, in cost savings programs and improved efficiencies as well as lean / continuous improvement programs
- Maintain organized files with data and documents supporting transportation operations, including gathering data to perform analytics, presenting results along, and recommending improvements
- Work closely with all levels of the supply chain department to resolve issues and identify underperforming areas within the department
- Publish and present freight metrics to management
- Recommend any applicable adjustments for efficiency
- Work with coworkers at all levels within the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics / transportation, or highly analytical work or equivalent job-related experience preferred
- Strong quantitative skills and competency working with large sets of data in Excel, Smartsheet, or other analytics tools as needed, certification in the use of these tools a plus
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively to improve processes and solve problems
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external team, which may include cross-departmental relationships as well as relationships with carriers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Excel
- Critical thinker with the ability to listen, read and react, and effectively communicate change and the implementation of new processes
- Ability to travel as needed (40%)

Physical Requirements
Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties.
