The Information Technology Technician is responsible for performing a range of duties to support, fix, and maintain the hardware and software systems throughout CBM of America. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the computers, peripherals, network, wireless and VoIP phones, both on premise and at remote locations.
- Troubleshoot computer problems, outages, and other system issues as necessary.
- Install hardware and peripheral components such as memory, SSDs, monitors, keyboards, and printers.
- Initiate local computer and equipment repairs, and coordinate vendor repairs.
- Install and support software such as Windows, Microsoft Office, AntiVirus, and other applications.
- Respond to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems.
- Administer the enterprise Google Workspace system.
- Participate in disaster recovery procedures and testing.
- Suggest improvements to IT processes, and work to implement enhancements and new procedures as necessary.
- Maintain IT assets and licenses in the tracking system.
- Assist in making and running cables.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Up to 10% travel.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Efficient and effective communication with customers and colleagues via web conference, email, phone, and in person.
- Ability to analyze, diagnose problems, and work independently to solve them.
- Work on multiple simultaneous projects. Follow through issues to completion.
- Work well within the team and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Proficient in troubleshooting systems, software installation, and accurate database record keeping.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio), Microsoft Active Directory, Antivirus, and Internet cloud-based applications.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and/or 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
- CompTIA A or equivalent experience preferred. Additional certifications are a plus.
- Microsoft Certified Professional MCP or greater.
- MCITP preferred.
- Cisco CCNA a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Reports to the office daily.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Close vision, ability to differentiate cable colors, and hear audible tones.
