What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Manager position at CBRE?
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Payroll Manager manages the payroll operations and human resources data processing function for salaried, hourly and commissioned personnel. You will develop and implement procedures and policies to enhance the effectiveness of the payroll function and have a strong understanding of the global payroll strategy and plans.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage and ensure the efficient operation of the payroll function and department.
- Evaluate processes on a regular basis and develop, implement and recommend policies and procedures designed to improve processes within the department; ensure timely communication of changes to payroll policies, procedures and regulations.
- Coordinate with appropriate agencies and departments on a regular basis to ensure compliance with all government reporting requirements, ensure that quarterly forms, tax filings, annual reporting, year end employee documents and are completed on a timely basis.
- Manage accounting and tax functions for compliance and timeliness.
- Research new payroll regulations and develop, roll out and recommend new or modified policies as appropriate.
- Coordinate, document and resolve internal controls weaknesses.
- Assess training needs of staff and make appropriate recommendations.
- Approve all requested HRIS changes from staff.
- Approve all payroll system test plans prior to production updates.
- Manage year end project plans for year end reporting on a global basis.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Bachelor's degree.- 7-10 years of payroll experience, including federal and multi state.
- Third party tax research tools and PeopleSoft experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
- In-depth knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience of applying them.
- Strong reasoning skills.
- CPP preferred.
