Summary:
The DOT Safety Coordinator will work to provide support to the Safety Department in day-to-day operations. This role will be expected to adhere to and comply with all company policies and procedures, and will be accountable for all duties as instructed by the Corporate DOT Transportation Safety Manager, and Corporate Safety & Compliance Manager.Duties for Dispatcher include (but not limited to):
- Assist management with compliance for FMCSA and OSHA rules and regulations
- Responsible for running Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), arranging driver physicals, running DOT Clearinghouse queries, and maintaining records for driver qualification (DQ) files
- Responsible for Random Drug and Alcohol files recordkeeping
- Assist with data collection for accident/incident reports: uploading documents, photos, and records
- Coordinator for the safety training programs
- Create, set-up, update, coordinate and maintain training including files for all employees
- Updating truck inspections and monthly maintenance records
- Maintain all DOT roadside inspection and violation records
- Assist in the on-boarding processes of DOT drivers and employees.
- Assist CBSL's Safety Department with all aspects including documentation of company safety programs as needed
- Communicates with CBSL employees and DOT drivers for compliance and recordkeeping purposes
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with drivers, peers, management and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork
- Serve as a supporting team member to the Safety Team Committee to help promote an open environment regarding safety and compliance concerns
- Other duties and special projects assigned by the Corporate DOT Transportation Safety Manager / Corporate Safety & Compliance Manager.
Job Requirements for Dispatcher Include:
- 2 to 3 years in a transportation compliance role
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required); Associate Degree preferred
- Working knowledge of transportation industry safety and compliance
- Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Advanced computer skills and experience with web-based fleet management systems
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently
- Strong analytical skills and thorough and accurate record keeping
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Demonstrated ability of working well with all levels of the organization
- Effective priority setting and time management
