What are the responsibilities and job description for the #1770 - Marketing & Communications Manager position at CCARC INC?
Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Primary Purpose:
The person in this position will cooperatively develop a marketing, communications, and branding plan with the Director of Development to promote the agency’s mission and performance to our constituency, families, the Department of Developmental and Social Services, and to current and prospective donors. This will be accomplished through social media, digital media design, media sources, CCARC website, newsletters, brochures, annual reports, and other means as appropriate. This person will assist the Director as needed with development events, promotional materials including sponsorship and foundation packets, and grant writing as needed. This position will function according to the policies established by the CCARC Board of Director’s and fully implement CCARC’s mission.
Essential Functions:
General Marketing & Communications
- Meet with respective staff to identify service area needs and develop an understanding of the organization, its happenings, and the accomplishments and needs of the programs. Tell the story of CCARC, our programs and the people we serve in numerous media channels.
- Work with the Director of Development to create a marketing and communications plan long and short range to promote CCARC, Inc resources, research, publications, public awareness and advocacy efforts.
- Create marketing and promotional materials for fundraisers, trade shows, and other special events.
- Contribute to corporate/partner engagement content development with key staff (Annual Fund, Annual Report, Sponsorship Packages & Sponsorship Recognition)
- Represent CCARC at events both on-site and within the community (often outside of normal business hours)
- Work with volunteer groups to provide an enriching experience while accomplishing projects benefiting CCARC and the individuals served. (i.e., United Way Year of Caring)
Social Media Management
- Design, manage, coordinate website development and maintenance.
- Manage social media, ensure it is consistent with branding guidelines.
- Develop and implement a publicity schedule to ensure that agency’s news is generated to the media and CCARC constituents.
- Ability to reach and exceed social media distribution and conversion/open rate goals.
Data & Analytics
- Donor data base Management preferably Raisers Edge
- Aid in implementing and maintaining Raiser’s Edge development software.
- Collects date to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of marketing initiatives
- Research and recommend applications that promote fundraising and streamline processes.
- Assists with special projects as assigned by the CEO i.e., Robotic use in programs or Smart glasses use in employment services.
Other Related Responsibilities:
- Assist with the grant writing if applicable. Research, draft and submit proposals that help the organization receive funding as needed to support the Development Department
- Assist with event coordination.
- Assist with other agency activities as determined appropriate by the Chief Executive Officer
Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. An associate degree is acceptable with experience.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in marketing, communications, digital media design, development and or public relations or other relevant expertise as approved by the Chief Executive Officer.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design & execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical organizational & personal sales skills
- Computer literacy in Office 365, InDesign, Adobe Suite
- Effective writing skills for storytelling, grant writing and general agency correspondence.
- Excellent public relations skills that will present the agency in a positive manner.
- Must complete the Agency's Employee Training.
- Must have valid Driver’s License, be insurable with Agency carrier and have own vehicle to use, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting to ten-twenty lbs.
- Vision must be good or corrected to normal to perform normal job duties.
- Hearing must be good to have the ability to understand information to perform job duties.
- Ability to read and write in English to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary.
- Sitting for extended periods of time and complete repetitive tasks like answering phones and typing.
