Personal Trainers are responsible for physical assessments, exercise prescription, policy enforcement, record keeping, motivating members, and delivering excellent customer service. Job Details Schedules and administers computerized Health Risk Appraisals and Physical Fitness Assessments to new and existing clients at least three times per year. Prescribes individual exercise programs that follow the guidelines adopted by Akron General LifeStyles based on assessment results and client goals. Maintains a record of past and present clients' attendance and payments. Reviews all policies and procedures with each client verbally. Provides floor coverage during times of need. Follows the established procedure for repair of equipment found to be malfunctioning. Displays proficiency in the operation of the computer hardware and KI software. Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety. Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure. Other duties as assigned Education: Bachelor's degree in athletic training, physical therapy, exercise physiology, exercise science, physical education or other related discipline or specific certification in personal training required. Certifications: None required Complexity of Work: Excellent communication and customer service related skills required. Ability to work variable hours as necessary. Possesses a professional attitude and demeanor. Capable of maintaining positive ongoing communications with clients and staff. Work Experience: Experience in the administration of physical assessments, exercise prescriptions and program development. Basic computer operational skills preferred.
