Description Crain Communications is seeking a Summer Intern to support the Acquisition and Retention Marketing teams, enabling growth marketing efforts across the Crain portfolio of brands including Ad Age, Automotive News, Crain’s Chicago, Crain’s New York, Crain’s Detroit, Crain’s Cleveland, Polymer Group, Modern Healthcare and Pensions and Investments. The Summer Intern will glean experience navigating a cross-functional environment to support the development, execution and measurement of marketing programs that drive acquisition, engagement, and retention amongst our readers. We are looking for an ambitious self-starter seeking the opportunity to learn and grow their marketing skill set. A successful Summer Intern must be accountable, highly detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator. Sitting within the Crain Communications Corporate Marketing organization, this position will be fully remote and receive direction from the Director, Growth Marketing, Director, Retention Marketing, and their teams. The Summer Intern will gain insight and build their knowledge of marketing tactics across the entire customer lifecycle, spending their time working across the various functional roles within the Acquisition and Retention Marketing teams including paid media and digital marketing, lifecycle marketing, renewals marketing and customer engagement. Primary Responsibilities: Support the management, execution and analysis of cross-channel marketing programs including set up/logistics, review & approvals, QA/UAT, tracking and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing automation, database operations, and technology to prepare new campaigns, enable innovation and ensure flawless execution of ongoing efforts. Manage and track campaign timelines, creative requests and project briefs, ensuring deadlines are met. Vet and execute ad hoc projects and initiatives. Help manage campaign reporting (weekly/monthly) and tracking of KPIs across efforts to leverage in the optimization of offers, targeting, and creative as needed. Organize and prepare presentation-friendly, shareable campaign data and ongoing learnings. Assist with administrative and business support tasks as needed such as meeting coordination, vendor communication, ticket writing (Jira). Basic Qualifications: Undergraduate student at a 4-year college or university having completed a minimum of 2 years Experience analyzing data sets to surfaces actionable insights Proficient MS Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment of multiple priorities Self-motivated and results oriented Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to effectively manage across multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization Preferred Qualifications Intermediate Excel skills – creating & manipulating pivot tables, setting up vlookups and formulas Visit us at www.Crain.com @CrainComm Environmental Demands Where you work matters. The typical physical requirements are light work—exerting up to 25lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10lbs of force frequently and may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
