Job Description

Position Summary :

The General Maintenance Technician (GMT) supports internal and external client needs by performing manual labor in support of Facility Projects.

CCI Industrial Services provides quality-driven, cost-effective construction, maintenance, industrial cleaning, power generation, and transportation services to support resource development companies in Alaska and the lower 48 states.

Essential Job Responsibilities / Functions to Include, But Not Limited To :

The following items are expected to be completed on a regular basis to fulfill the requirements of the above mentioned position :

Be a Safety Leader! Ensure the resources and commit to HSE is of top priority for all employees within the company :

Maintain 100% Safety Standards and Accountability in all areas or mandatory / regulatory requirements, which include : Compliance with required HSE Training.

Ensures all work conducted in in his / her area is properly permitted.Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.

Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns / incidents / issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.

Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.

GMT has STOP work authority.Participating in safety meetings, work safely, and maintain a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.

Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.

  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walk downs and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
  • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.

Be a team player, striving for an interdependent, successful and effective approach to meeting our vision, mission and business objectives :

  • Communicate daily status of current projects to Facility Operations and the O&M Superintendent as necessary to ensure all projects are timely and within company and client standards.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, exercises and drills.
  • Assist others on special project needs, when appropriate.
  • Perform pipe stripping, lifting, scaffold erection, corrosion coating reconditioning, sheet metal fabrication, bolt-up (Build It Tight), energy isolation (Lock Out / Tag Out) pipeline insulation, rigging, new technology support, and other work-related requirements.
  • Promote safe work practices by following company and client safety policies.
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools (buffer / grinders, jigsaw, drills, T-bar, rakes, shovels, etc.) carrying and lifting materials (cribbing, chock blocks, straps, insulation, metal, etc.

  • Operate and / or supervise the operation of vehicles to include pickups, 12-foot flatbed, and box van trucks (F550), small mobile trailers and other equipment in adverse weather and road conditions.
  • Perform manual labor insulating, fabricating, installing sheet metal, using shop equipment, erecting scaffolding, etc.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures. Accept accountability for safe work practices.
  • Participate in START card, Tool Box Talk (TBT), pre and post project meetings. Perform shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
  • Will ensure work scopes are fully defined and proper resources and materials are in place to accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrate support of company and client environmental management system.
  • Participate in the CCI active list for spill responders.
  • Coach and train CCI crew members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions :

  • Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts;

high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

Physical Restrictions :

Physical and technical requirements that meet the standards of CCI Industrial Services : Lifting up to 40 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 70 lbs.

carrying up to 35 lbs., shoveling up to 20 lbs., frequent walking and standing, occasional keyboard use, sitting, bending, twisting and reaching.

Requirements

Required Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to clearly speak, write, read and understand the English language.
  • Must have hand and power tool knowledge and experience.
  • NSTC Certification.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to follow CCI Industrial Services, client safety programs, and regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
  • Ability to prepare reports and correspondence as required.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing demands simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport and strong working relationship with co-workers and client representatives.
  • Ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Current Alaska 40 Hour Asbestos Abatement Certification.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Facility Operations with knowledge of production systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Familiarity with Greater Prudhoe Bay facilities.

Contingencies :

Offer contingent upon ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
