Engineering is seeking CAD/GIS Drafters to neatly and efficiently draft plant information onto plant maps. May be required to help co-workers via training and/or train new employees to create a productive and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with Project Managers & Supervisors to understand and follow project guidelines.
- Use CAD/GIS software to draft route, addresses, RF plant, fiber plant, and/or permit information onto maps.
- Put maps into QC as they are completed.
- Work with QC on project information and/or problems and correct and finalize maps as they are received back from QC.
- Update project tracking tools and timesheet daily.
- Create field questions and provide enough information for the fielders to understand.
- Work as a team to accomplish goals.
- Communicate with customers and fellow employees in a professional manner.
- Ensure confidentiality of company and customer information.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in CAD or GIS or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Prior experience with any of the following software: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bentley Comms, Lode Data, spatial NET, ESRI, and Mapcom M4 is useful.
- Ability to read and understand CATV or utility maps is preferred.
- Ability to work in a production environment and meet quality expectations.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to adapt to changes in project scope and shifts in priority.
- Communicate effectively with field technicians, peers, managers, and customers.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Must be team oriented, positive, upbeat, and willing and able to work with many personalities to achieve departmental goals.
- Must be willing to learn new product lines and technologies to serve departmental needs and goals.

Shifts are full-time Monday – Friday between the hours of 6:00 am – 2:30 pm CST or Monday-Thursday 3:00 pm CST-1:30 am CST. Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal business hours, as necessary.
