Ideal Candidate locations: Remote position but looking within the areas of Iron Mountain, MI, Wisconsin, Missouri, or Virginia to be based near our job sites.

Our Technical Field Services (TFS) division is seeking a Project Manager to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines while operating within budget to drive maximum project profitability. They will understand the project scope, monitor the goals and deliverables, and keep stakeholders informed while following the company’s goals and vision.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, track, and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Establish a series of pre project meetings with internal resources, subcontractors, and customers for every project.
  • Estimate and acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Track project costs to meet or exceed CCI budget and control agreed upon scope of work.
  • Maintain our promised budget to the customer escalating and communicating to all project stakeholders immediately when budgets and purchase order balances are at risk.
  • Ensure contract adherence meeting scope of work, deliverables, and invoicing requirements.
  • Develop and deliver full-scale project plans, progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, associated communication documents, and presentations.
  • Define the objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determine and assess need for additional resources and make the appropriate adjustments if necessary, during project cycle.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, devise plans, communicate and negotiate change order needs with customers.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct post project reviews and create a recommendation report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Take responsibility for all factors related to assigned projects.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by management.


Skills we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Project and/or Construction Management.
  • 5-7 years practical experience as part of a utility project/construction management team.
  • Certification in project management preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of Visio and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Expert within Smartsheet and/or other project management software.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Effectively work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues, vendors, and customers/clients of all demographics and professional levels. Also, be able to gain credibility with them to effectively complete tasks.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Persuasive, encouraging and motivating with the ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Proven ability to complete complex projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Expert at conducting research into project-related issues to develop solutions to ensure project success.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to take direction and work within timelines.
  • Knowledge of network terminology, related installation and industry products preferred.
  • The ability to embrace corporate values, understands the company mission, and exemplifies CCI leadership behaviors.


Shift
is Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST but must be able to work outside normal business hours when required.

  • Approximately 25% travel is required to establish and maintain project success.
