Community Connections of NY, Inc. (CCNY) is hiring for a Data Analyst. We are looking for someone with these qualifications who is interested in using data to improve outcomes and support best practices for health and human service agencies:
Bachelor's Degree 1 to 2 years experience or Master's Degree
Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field is preferred.
Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
Understanding of addressing and metadata standards.
High-level written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to create complex code in SQL (R and/or Python a plus)
Documented work experience with SQL database development, management, and maintenance
Experience in the design and development of high-quality database solutions
Highly skilled in code documentation and organization of own work
High comfort level communicating with team members in written and spoken English
Willingness to suggest solutions to problems as they arise and volunteer to assist on projects within domain knowledge
Interested in identifying and learning new trends in data analytics, incorporating acquired knowledge into my work, and sharing it with other staff.
CCNY is a non-profit organization located in Buffalo, NY that supports organizations in seamlessly integrating measurement and management, evaluation, and quality improvement strategies into their operations to develop programs and services that result in positive outcomes for their clients and the community.
The Data Analyst works as part of an interdisciplinary team and assists in performing the following duties:
Participate in project work by attending regular meetings, completing independent tasks, and communicating about those tasks regularly.
Participate in the proposal writing process.
Develop queries and reports that will be used as valid datasets.
Develop databases or spreadsheets for data collection (excel, access, salesforce).
Develop scripts to transform datasets for analysis or reporting.
Identify project requirements during initial client meetings to develop data products to specification.
Develop subject matter expertise regarding the use of datasets or systems for various uses.
Develop programs, scripts, and systems to automate the delivery of analytical and reporting products.
Lead analytics, reporting, and integration projects.
Mentor Junior Data Analysts and interns.
Able to follow data visualization standards for the department consistently.
Able to use business intelligence tools (Excel, Tableau, PowerBI) to deliver analytics to customers.
Develop descriptive statistics based on given datasets.
Learn to develop inferential statistics based on given datasets.
Use statistical programming software (R) to analyze quantitative and qualitative datasets and deliver analytics to customers.
Use Git and Github to collaborate with other analysts (for example, merge, pull, push, commit, branch).
