SUMMARY:
The Early Head Start Child Development Assistant will work on assignment with the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) in the Head Start program to provide direct support in the classroom environment, implements lessons, and activities as directed by the lead teacher.
Location: West Chester Care Center
Schedule: 260 day position, 7.5 paid hours per day
12 paid sick days for those working full schedule
Pay-rate is $19.74 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist the Child Development Specialist in planning and executing early childhood activities for infants and toddlers
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with adults and children
Assist the teacher in carrying out the duties of caring for children
Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalency and willingness to obtain a child development associate (10 credits) in one year
Previous experience in childcare setting with the demonstrated ability to relate well to children - preferred
CREDENTIALS:
(Clearances current within 12 months)
PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
TB Screening (current within 3 months)
Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
Due to a federal mandate, proof of full Covid-19 vaccination is required for staff working in the Head Start program
Due to a federal mandate, masks are required for staff working in the Head Start program, regardless of vaccination status
