The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program. Job Description Senior Principle Architect: Head of Business Architecture Job purpose The Head of Business Architecture will play a pivotal role in steering Cox Enterprises towards innovation and enhanced productivity through the establishment and leadership of the Business Architecture (BA) function. This role is instrumental in evolving the BA discipline, ensuring the development and management of foundational elements such as capability models, value streams, business processes, and journey maps. The Head of Business Architecture will drive business and operating model changes, enable capability-based strategic planning, articulate the value of Enterprise Architecture (EA), and engage with business and IT stakeholders to align architectural initiatives with business goals. Responsibilities Build and Lead the Business Architecture Foundation: Establish and continually refine the BA discipline within Cox Enterprises, guiding the development of key deliverables to direct organizational innovation and productivity. Facilitate Business and Operating Model Change: Analyze current models to identify areas for transformation, collaborating with enterprise and IT architects to drive profitability and innovation. Drive Digital Transformation Initiatives: Spearhead digital transformation projects, leveraging emerging technologies and architectural innovations to enhance business agility and digital readiness. Collaborate with technology and business leaders to align digital strategies with enterprise goals. Lead Business Architecture Integration: Ensure the Business Architecture function is fully integrated with other areas of enterprise architecture, including Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, Integration Architecture, Security Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, and Application Architecture. Facilitate cross-disciplinary initiatives to drive cohesive and holistic IT strategies across Cox Enterprises. Champion Architectural Best Practices: Establish and promote architectural best practices, standards, and guidelines across the organization. Ensure that architectural principles are applied during the development and implementation of enterprise solutions. Enable Capability-Based Strategic Planning: Lead strategic planning from a BA viewpoint, working closely with business unit and functional leaders to develop and implement capability-based planning and assessments. Measure and Articulate the Value of EA: Develop and enforce metrics that demonstrate the business value of EA practices, ensuring alignment with business objectives to enhance productivity and strategic technology investments. Engage Business and IT Stakeholders: Ability to foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across business and IT, promoting effective architectural collaboration and communication. Mentor and Develop Architectural Talent: Develop a culture of continuous learning within the architecture community at Cox Enterprises. Mentor and coach junior architects and team members, fostering a pipeline of architectural talent within the organization. Address Complex Business Challenges: Convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences through communication and presentation to various stakeholders. Qualifications: Required Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 12 years’ experience in a related field; or a master’s degree and 10 years’ experience; or a Ph.D. and 7 years’ experience in a related field; or 16 years’ experience in a related field 5 years of experience in Business Architecture or related fields, with demonstrated leadership of BA initiatives in complex, enterprise organizations. 5 years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale enterprise solutions and platforms. Extensive experience in capability-based planning, business process reengineering, value-stream mapping, and operating model transformation. Proven track record in developing and implementing EA value metrics and strategic planning processes. Deep Technical Proficiency: Advanced technical skills across a variety of platforms, languages, and frameworks. Ability to stay abreast of emerging technologies and architectural trends. Demonstrated expertise in building and leading the Business Architecture discipline, including the creation and maintenance of high-quality BA deliverables. Qualifications: Preferred Expertise in Business Architecture methodologies, tools, and best practices. Deep understanding of technology trends, industry best practices, and their application within a business context. Extensive Exposure to Digital Transformation Projects: Deep involvement in digital transformation initiatives, with expertise in leveraging technology to drive business innovation and efficiency. Strategic Leadership Experience: Experience in strategic planning and execution within the realm of enterprise architecture. Ability to lead architectural strategy sessions and align architectural initiatives with business objectives. Expertise in Modern Architectural Practices: Proficiency in modern architecture practices such as microservices, cloud-native development, API-led connectivity, and DevOps. Strong Portfolio of Implemented Solutions: A portfolio that showcases a diverse range of successfully implemented architectural solutions across various domains within a large-scale enterprise environment. Research and Development (R&D) Experience: Experience leading or significantly contributing to R&D efforts within the architectural domain, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and Internet of Things (IoT).
