The Senior Accountant is responsible for the organization's financial health and growth.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
· College degree in advanced accounting and/or 5 or more years in advanced managerial accounting roles
· Strong mathematical skills and advanced computer skills
· Proficient in accounting software programs
· Familiar with HUD accounting practices a plus, will train if necessary
· Experience with Medicaid, Workers Comp and HR a plus
· Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
· Excellent communication skills with residents, resident families, venders and staff
· Must be able to pass criminal and drug background tests as required by Bureau of Licensing and corporate policies
· Must be able to work respectfully and compassionately with older adults
Essential Functions:
· Adhere to Orchard Ridge's policies and procedures.
· Perform, Oversee and monitor: general journal entries, resident billing, intercompany transfers, forecasting, budgets, and annual audit.
· Manage all payroll related functions and reporting taxes, insurance and garnishments in an accurate and prompt manner according to state and federal guidelines.
· Strategize ways to improve or change current business practices.
· Perform complex accounting and strategic data analysis to provide recommendations and guidance to the Executive Director
· Reconcile, audit, format and present monthly financial statements according to board guidance.
· Oversee rent payments, Medicaid, Pharmacy billing, Workers Comp, HR
· Work closely with Executive Director and department supervisors and communicate budgets and budget concerns.
Training:
· Attend all required in-service training

· Ability to work on a dedicated schedule

· Medium work- Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
· Long periods of sitting with occasional standing and walking
· Frequent bending, stooping, squatting and reaching
· Occasional twisting and kneeling
Compensation:
· Compensation DOE. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and 401k
