What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at CDL 1000 Inc.?

CDL 1000, Inc., headquartered in Chicago and Lyons, IL, is looking to hire a Financial Analyst for its Controls and Governance team. This role participates in the ownership and facilitation of internal control / SOX processes with additional focus on governance over internal policies and processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the ownership and facilitation of internal controls / SOX processes with significant focus on business process controls and Segregation of Duties governance.
  • Implementation and enhancement of internal control governance policies, including IT and business controls, reporting and quality assurance.
  • Own processes that enable the business to operate in a well-controlled environment.
  • Review, evaluate, and prioritize tasks/project assignments and communicate key issues to management.
  • Assist in the alignment of controls across CDL 1000 and its affiliated companies.
  • Engage in ERP upgrades to evaluate risk and impact to control environment.
  • Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and performs quality review control over business processes and activities.

Qualifications:
  • A relative 4-year degree and a minimum 2 years of accounting process and controls experience; public accounting or transportation company experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT controls, auditing, and SOX Act.
  • Experience with ERP business processes.
  • Knowledge of internal controls (CPA or CIA preferred).
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Leadership abilities to inspire and drive change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting and communicating processes.
  • Complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
  • Diplomatically and professionally exercise great judgement in developing and maintaining excellent relationships within the business.
  • Strong ability to work independently and with cross functional teams.

Interview Process:

  • Video Call with the Director of the department — 30 minutes
