What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspector II position at CEC?
OBJECTIVE :
Lead small teams during the successful testing of fire alarm, smoke detection, and other life safety systems.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
Monitoring fire alarm control panels during system inspections, ensuring connected devices are testing correctly.
Utilize Building Reports to accurately document applicable updates/changes made to a customer’s system.
Provide direction to small team of Inspectors, while providing project feedback to department management.
Submit online discrepancy report with documentation of panel test results for various devices throughout the building, including alarm pull stations, smoke detectors, and sprinkler alarms.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1 years field experience with inspecting and testing life safety systems.
NICET I certification.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years of experience in the alarm inspection industry.
Two-year degree from an accredited college, university, or technical institution with coursework in electronics, construction, or computer science.
NICET II certification.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and lead well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
PC proficiency is essential (Windows Suite) and strong working knowledge of Excel and Word.
Preferred knowledge of a CRM and document management.
Strong interpersonal communications skills.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
The duties of this job require the employee to effectively talk and hear English language communications.
The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
Some light lifting of objects is required.
Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
