POSITION SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, assignments, and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
- Maintain day-to-day responsibility for our contract management process, including oversight of contract lifecycle management (CLM) technology.
- Draft, edit, review and finalize contracts and other legal documents.
- Develop, update, and maintain contract templates, forms, and guidelines.
- Maintain day-to-day responsibility for legal entity management, including maintaining corporate registrations for CECO’s entities in the United States and worldwide.
- Identify key legal and business issues and escalate appropriately.
- Track assigned projects, issues, and status related to transactions and documents.
- Open and close confidential legal files and perform notary duties.
- Manage and track the legal department budget.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
6 years’ experience as a paralegal with transactional experience (specifically, drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts)- Experience with legal operations and legal department process improvement initiatives highly preferred
- Litigation and case management paralegal experience desirable but not required
- Ability to be flexible and prioritize
- High competency with Microsoft Office, MS Access. Office 365, and Net Documents or other document management system.
- Experience working directly with internal client contacts (if at an outside law firm) or working in an in-house environment.
- Ability to work in teams.
- Effective, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter, ability to identify necessary tasks, plan projects and bring to completion.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and promote the reputation and integrity of the Law Department and CECO.
