Painter, $25/hr, Full Time

In this Full Time position with Benefits, you will prepare surfaces and apply paint, varnish, stain, wall paper and coatings to help beautify and protect exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures to preserve buildings, equipment, midways and rides.

 Responsibilities:

• Prepares surfaces by sandblasting, pressure washing, repairing/patching and thereafter paints rides, structures, buildings, interiors, etc according to park standards.
• Selects the proper paint products and painting techniques to provide coverage of areas to be painted. Estimates quantities of paint needed to complete the job; then requests the necessary supplies and materials as needed. Once
• project is completed, ensures the proper handling, storage and disposal of paint and any other hazardous substances that were used to complete the project.
• Performs special projects and general maintenance work; including, but not limited to maintaining surfaces to prevent rust and rot; caulking, puttying and glazing windows; finishing drywall; installing/repairing wallpaper; repairing awnings; performing automotive body repair and painting; applying special protective coatings to various surfaces; repairing and painting car rides; refinishing furniture; assisting with Fiberglas work, etc.
• Performs all work in compliance with park policies and procedures, project plans and specifications, schedules and standards of quality and safety.
• Operates a vehicle, trucks, forklift, pressure washer, sand blaster, spray equipment, air compressors, power lifts, Cushman cart, two-way radio.
• Uses measuring devices, hand and power tools, paint suplies, etc.
• Interacts with various groups and individuals such as immediate supervisor, other managers and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, and contractors.
• Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
• Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
• Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee
• Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have 5-7 years in Painting experience.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Ability to become familiar with fall protection equipment.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
