Job Summary for Unit Manger:

Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse with license in good standing.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, sales representatives, and the public.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare facility
- Maintaining and restoring health of residents
- Acting as a main point of contact between residents and their families
- Addressing and preventing concerns from family members
- Assisting in developing, implementing and adjusting patient care plans as needed
- Supervising, counseling, and providing discipline, when necessary, to nurse staff to ensure the highest quality care possible
- Ensuring Unit meets federal and state regulatory standards, as well as company policy and procedures
- Completing Admission and discharge assessment
- Overseeing and auditing changes made to care plans
- Collaborating with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners and physicians to plan and maintain resident care
- Delivering hands-on care and medicine distributed as needed
- Auditing and completing charts, evaluations, medical forms, and other administrative tasks
- Evaluating, prioritizing and meeting the care needs of each resident
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
- All other duties as assigned.
