What you will be doing in this role:
The Community Health Data Analyst is responsible for a large portfolio of monitoring, evaluation and learning projects and data collection and analyses processes that support Cedars-Sinai’s mission to improve the health of the community.
The role supports Cedars-Sinai’s Community Engagement Department within the reporting line of the Community Benefit and Social Responsibility Systems team, under the supervision of the Sr. Community Health Analyst.
Working with program staff and managers, the position includes the l coordination of data collection, analysis, and visualization, for use in program planning, evaluation, and strategic decision- making.
The Community Health Data Analyst also builds, maintains, and expands s upon geo-mapping processes for the visualization of patient data, program data and publicly available geographic data supporting the analyses and decision-making around program impact. Cedars-Sinai’s program data is primarily generated from its Community Benefit programs focused on communities and patients with unmet health and health-related social needs.
Also, The Community Health Data Analyst supports internal efforts to enhance the data culture of community benefit, social responsibility and community engagement portfolio. The role supports and builds capacity for Community Engagement Department staff to use of various data-related tools and software.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Uses data collection, analysis and visualization tools to collect, analyze and display data, including but not limited to Tableau, ArcGIS Pro, REDCap, Microsoft Excel, SPSS and Python
- Uses data from Cedars-Sinai’s Community Benefit programs to generate dynamic Tableau dashboards for program evaluation and strategic planning
- Generates static and dynamic maps in ArcGIS Pro and Tableau to display data collected by Cedars-Sinai’s Community Benefit and Community Engagement programs
- Provides technical assistance for data platforms and tools used by Community Engagement programs
- Facilitates the collection and reporting of Community Benefit data system-wide to abide by state and federal regulations
- Assists in building, deploying and monitoring in-depth data collection for Community Engagement, including bi-annual reporting periods, target and goal-setting, running data-related clinic
- Assists with quality improvement projects and data-related education including periodic Lunch & Learn sessions
- Acts as a thought partner in the execution of Community Engagement data strategy, including framework development, creation of measurement tools, education, socialization, and planning.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health or related major required. Master’s Degree -in Public Health/related health sciences or analytics/data is preferred.
Skills/Experience Sought:
A minimum of 2 years of experience preferred in Analytics (data collection, data entry, storing data and exploratory data analysis skills) and Evaluation (measurement and interpretation of data used for decision-making.)
A minimum of one year of experience in Visualization (creating visual representation of data - graphs/charts/dashboards/maps)
Experience using ArcGIS, Tableau, SPSS, Python, REDCap, Excel preferred.
