What will you be doing in this role:

The Patient Liaison provides a positive link between the Emergency Department (ED), patients, benefactors, and other members of the Patient Relations team.  The ED Patient Relations acts as a liaison between the ED staff and the patient in providing information regarding ED/hospital procedure thus reducing the stress of the patient as well as the medical team. The ED Patient Liaison is a member of the Patient Relations team and Primary duties, and responsibilities include: 

• Promoting patient satisfaction by ensuring the well-being of patients by attempting to fulfill their needs, while reducing the stress in the patient. May interact with their families and caregivers to diffuse anxiety and fear through provision of not limited to complaints, dissatisfaction or crisis and post care resources.
• May follow up with patient to ensure they receive the care and services recommended.
• Working with internal and external team members and organization to ensure a coordinated outreach approach.
• Assisting patients and families as they navigate the discharge process including access to community programs, services, and health insurance information.

Experience Requirements:

• Two (2) years of experience functioning in a concierge/liaison role or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of experience working in a health care field, engaging with patients and/or experience in care coordination/case management, medical office, community outreach or customer service required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
• Must be able to handle exciting priorities, while being very adaptable and flexible and maintaining a positive work environment.

Educational/Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree/College Diploma in Communication, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
