Principal Investigator, Cory Hogaboam, PhD is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the team!
The Hogaboam Laboratory is focused on elucidating innate and adaptive immune mechanisms that drive chronic lung diseases, such as asthma, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, sarcoidosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and idiopathic interstitial pneumonias (such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). The Hogaboam Laboratory is particularly interested in understanding the manner in which lung structural cells are affected by and contribute to these disease processes. In this role, you will be working independently, but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists. As a Postdoctoral Scientist, you will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. You may also develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. You will analyze and interpret data. May assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. This position is not responsible for generating grant funds.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- May assist in preparation of grant proposals, but is not responsible for generating grant funds.
- May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author.
- Designs and performs experiments. Will keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results with the Principal Investigator.
- Analyzes, interprets, summarizes and compiles data.
- Operates and maintains equipment and instruments including IncuCyte, Zoom, and S3 systems.
Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mesenchymal progenitor and differentiated cell culture.
- Understanding of RNA sensing mechanisms mediated via TLR3.
- In vivo modeling of acute lung injury and chronic lung remodeling.
- Flow cytometry expertise with both immune and non-immune cells.
- Understanding of CD30 and CD30-mediated mechanisms of acute lung injury and repair.
- Understanding of basal-like cell biology.
