Manufacturing Expert - Operations The Manufacturing Expert - Operations ensures excellent unit operation through anticipation of potential emerging issues, clear prioritization, accurate work direction, and integration between Operations and Execution. They should have strong knowledge of the process, product, equipment, standards, and work flows to effectively manage and direct operations. The ME-Operations should have strong problem solving skills and organizational savvy to create schedules and action plans to minimize plant disruptions.
Key responsibilities include:
Models Celanese leader expectations and actively coaches/mentors the Team Captains and Process Experts on topics to improve overall operational proficiency.
Identifies and creates plans for emerging issues and coordinates necessary resources to ensure minimal plant operational disruption.
Demonstrates availability, flexibility, and discretion to adjust to the immediate needs of the plant.
Supports and leads day to day technical troubleshooting within the unit. For long downtime time events or significant process upsets, supports/leads RCAs and implements follow up corrective action plans.
Develops daily/weekly operating plans for the unit Team Captains’ to execute; coordinating with maintenance on maintenance schedule, deciding on schedule breaks, gatekeeping work notifications, creating/organizing EIPs, managing Process Expert vacation, etc.
Collaborates with site partners and outside vendors to ensure issues and requests are fulfilled from all parties; B&R, Henkel, etc.
Designs and optimizes production processes, initiates projects, monitors the status of projects and drives them to completion.
Ensures achievement of the four core principles of Stewardship, Quality, Reliability, and Engagement in implementing process, product, and equipment changes.
Qualifications
HS Diploma or Equivalent is required.
Ability to work evenings and weekends based upon operational needs.
Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience with 5 years in chemical manufacturing.
Ability to build strong relationships and plan/align with the team.
Strong influential leadership skills required
Strong verbal/written communication.
Advanced coaching skills.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office and SAP.
Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects/tasks/programs.
Self-directed, self-starter and ability to operate/prioritize with ambiguity.
