We are seeking a passionate credentialed Certified School Nurse for an in-person school-based assignment in South San Francisco, CA! The purpose of the position is to provide direct and individualized nursing care, assisting students in managing chronic health conditions, and caring for their overall well-being. Celebrations Speech Group is a private practice and Non-Public Agency with decades of experience providing quality special education and therapy services to children with special needs in schools, homes, and in-clinic. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to students, tailored to their specific health needs
- Assist students with managing their chronic health conditions, ensuring they can fully participate in school activities
- Implement interventions and referrals to promote health and support educational success
- Advocate for the comprehensive well-being of students, addressing their physical, emotional, mental and social health needs
- Promote and lead health education initiatives for students and staff, contributing to a knowledgeable school community
- Provide expert oversight of school health services, enhancing the health and wellness culture within our school community
- Train key stakeholders (e.g., general education teachers, paraeducators, etc) to support the delivery of healthcare services.
- Update and maintain students’ special education records, both digital and physical, including IEP documents, progress reports, evaluations, parent signature pages, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure all students are receiving services commensurate with their IEPs and making ongoing progress toward meeting goals as outlined in their IEPs.
- Collaborate with general education colleagues to accommodate, differentiate, and modify student learning and materials to best meet the student’s needs through co-teaching, push-in, pull-out, small groups, and one-to-one support, provide meaningful inclusion. Support staff and teachers in implementing Special Education programs and services.
Qualifications:
- REQUIRED: Certification as a Certified School Nurse or a Registered Nurse License
- Experience in pediatric nursing is highly desired, highlighting your ability to cater to the unique health needs of children
- Provide direct services in-person to students
- Ability to build rapport with staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive and collaborative demeanor
- Must have a strong desire to work with a wide array of patients (age, race, ethnicity, etc)
- Strong technological skills
- Complete assigned tasks without supervision
- Communicate effectively at all organizational levels
- Exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks
