Warehouse General Laborer

General labor position available in a clean paper recycling warehouse. No experience needed! We train on the job and promote from within. Paid sick time and vacation available after 90 days, with scheduled raises and guaranteed minimum increase based on cost of living every year.

COVID-19 UPDATE

We take the safety of our employees extremely seriously, and follow all recommended guidelines. Our warehouse is closed to outside visitors - employees have no public interaction, and minimal interaction with other employees within each department. Masks, gloves, and cleaning products are provided for all employees. Paid sick leave is available to all employees, with additional Covid support.

Position outline:

• Load and unload paper rolls and cardboard cores in racking systems
• Sort and separate inbound material by product
• Using blades and other tools, strip paper from cardboard cores
• Inspect and grade according to quality standards
• Accurately record number of processed units
• Bundle or package material as needed
• Other general labor as required
• Forklift experience an asset, but not required - opportunities exist to train & certify

Requirements:

• Able to stand, bend, and lift repeatedly (able to lift at least 50 lb)
• Legible writing
• Works well as part of a team
• Steel-toes mandatory
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Must follow all health and safety requirements

COMPENSATION

• Scheduled wage increases at 3 months and 6 months (with good performance and attendance)

• Scheduled base wage increases tied to the IL minimum wage baseline

• Paid public holidays after 90 days
• Paid sick days available to all employees (accrued from start date)

• Paid vacation (accrued from start date, eligible to use after 90 days)

• Increasing sick days and vacation time with length of service
• Guaranteed minimum annual increase based on cost of living (separate from position & performance reviews)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.50 per hour
