CellFE develops and utilizes proprietary microfluidic cell transfection technology for intracellular delivery of diverse genetic payloads to address the needs of contract manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies that specialize in ex-vivo cell therapy.


Position Summary: The Laboratory Coordinator/Sr. Laboratory Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day laboratory operations by ensuring lab equipment is maintained, general working space is clean and organized, order supplies/materials, and ensure all safety protocols are followed. This position will also be required to conduct experiments, as well as perform administrative duties, such as budget requests/approvals, negotiate with vendors and key stakeholders to ensure supplies and materials to conduct experiments readily available to Scientific Team. This position reports to the Head of Science.


Location: This position is laboratory based in our corporate headquarters in Alameda, CA


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to day laboratory operations, which includes, but not limited to, inventory control and procurement (e.g., generate Purchase Orders, place orders with vendors/supplies and manage receiving), conduct lab instrument checks to ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained, and provide end user training on equipment and lab processes.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory operations protocols (SOP's) to ensure compliance and safety in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure standard supplies are always stocked and specialty materials are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to approved budgets and timelines.
  • Log and analyze critical lab environment parameters (e.g. temperature, humidity, checking fridge/freezers and liquid nitrogen level for cell storage)
  • Provide assistance to the Science team in experiment(s) execution (e.g., materials preparation, performing cell culture and isolation etc.), as required
  • Assist in lab meeting scheduling and minutes documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in a scientific field preferred
  • 1 years of work-related experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • 1 years of laboratory management experience
  • Strong project management and inventory control skills
  • Prior experience as Safety Supervisor in a laboratory environment, highly desired
  • Prior experience with budgets and vendor management
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of standard lab equipment and cell culture. Strong experience in using standard lab equipment such as centrifuge, cell counting instrument, or flowcytometry.

Physical Requirements: Physical demands require ability to lift 40 lbs. overhead and stand for prolonged periods of time


The expected salary range for this position is based on the primary location of Alameda, CA is $80,000 - $95,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
