Position Summary:
The Cytotechnologist's chief responsibility is to screen slides and identify abnormal and cancerous cells. In order to comply with centers for Medicare & Medicaid services requirements, Cytotechnologists must complete the college of American Pathology (CAP) proficiency test annually with a score of 90% correct or higher. Flexible work hours are available to the Cytotechnologist and can vary depending on workload. The Cytotechnologist is responsible for adhering to HIPAA standards, CLIA and CAP.

Essential Duties
- Screen mainly pap specimens and some non-gynecological slides
- Verifying all patient information and correlating clinical history
- Assigning & resulting cases
- Rescreen 5-year review cases
- Keeps a record of individual daily workload
- Working with the Imager Hologic system
- Identify and route high-risk cases for rescreening to QC and pathologists

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Current Cytotechnologist certification by ASCP
