Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures a safe working environment in compliance with all CEMEX Safety Polices & MSHA Regulation for all employees and visitors to the facility.
- Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards, and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
- Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product, quality, and reliability.
- Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
- Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality in order to maintain customer relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A degree in Chemical Engineering or similar four (4) year degree required.
- 5-10 years of cement experience (process engineering or lab experience strongly preferred).
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to work extended hours, occasional evenings or weekends or take calls after hours, evenings, weekends or holidays.
- Ability to communicate with others written or verbally.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowlege of Microsoft Office Suite products
- Laboratory and testing equipment including XRF analyzers, any assigned safety equipment.
- Computer, radio, phones, SAP, other required software.
- Hand tools and oterany other equipment assigned.
Working Conditions
This job requires the ability to work in an industrial setting (cement plant) with exposure to noise, dust, all weather conditions, and work extended hours including some evenings, nights, weekends or holidays.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up 10-15lbs frequently, 25-50lbs occasionally, walk, climb stairs & ladders, sit, stand, crouch, and stoop. Ability to use computers, read, write and communicate clearly. Ability to comply with all MSHA & CEMEX safety regulations and able to utilize all required PPE as needed.
