Job Summary
The Resource Tehcnician will collect mining information using various equipment and software as well as be responsible for drilling and logging.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote a safe workplace environment
- Collect survey information of mine features using GPS / drone equipment.
- Conduct periodic inventory surveys of active quarries
- Drill & Log boreholes at active quarries
- Convert field collected survey data into AutoCAD and ArcGIS maps.
- Assist Manager of Aggregate Resources with any required field data collection and file management.
- Place survey markers as directed to guide mining operations.
- Perform other tasks as directed to fulfill mine planning requirements
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED required; BS in Sciences preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience flying UAVs preferred but not a must; must obtain FAA Part 107 UAV Pilot license within six months
- Environmental monitoring experience preferred but not required
- Surveying experience with GPS and/or conventional survey instruments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Preferred Computer skills
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access-a plus)
- AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS experience a plus
- Good organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- A Self-motivated Team player willing to do what is necessary to get the job done
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment, in varying weather elements, performing physical labor
- Ability to travel overnight out-of-town stays to perform duties.
- Ability to work extended hours when required to complete tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pick up 75 pounds occasionally when completing tasks.
