Community Mobilizer

CenClear is looking for a full-time Community Mobilizer that will work with Supporting Partnerships and Reach Communities (SPARC) (formerly known as The Clearfield County Collaboration and Prevention Board). The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all Collaboration and Prevention Board Activities throughout Clearfield and Jefferson Counties. Hours: 40 hours per week, 44 weeks per year

8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Wage: $16.89 per hour

Covid-19 vaccine is encouraged but not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least three years’ related experience; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to form relationships with strategic partners, e.g., government agencies, non-profit agencies, schools, and business and faith-based communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak effectively and professionally in public to a variety of audiences. Must possess professional demeanor. Must be able to write clear, concise and grammatically correct letters, reports and other forms of communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions and take the lead in solving problems.
  • Must possess strong group facilitation skills and experience.
  • Must be self-directed, as well as a team player.
  • Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Local travel required.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Social Media.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Collaboration and Prevention Board members to recruit and train appropriate key leaders, stakeholders, parents, youth and additional Collaboration and Prevention Board members.
  • Develop and maintain strong, engaged partnerships with Board members, community leaders, youth service providers, and the public.
  • Facilitate delegation of Collaboration and Prevention Board tasks, including but not limited to collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; community outreach, public relations; and board meetings.
  • Utilize the Communities That Care framework to guide the Board and workgroups through the planning, implementation, and monitoring process of selected activities and interventions.
  • Work with Collaboration and Prevention Board members to develop and expand services to children and families identifying areas of need by utilizing PAYS and other community assessment data available.
  • Coordinate the dissemination of Collaboration and Prevention Board information including youth substance use and community-level risk and protective factors to key leaders, schools, and other youth service providers and the public to promote support and advocacy for the Collaboration and Prevention Board process.
  • Represent the Collaboration and Prevention Board to the larger community, serving as the primary community contact for Collaboration and Prevention Board activities.
  • Lead in planning and developing youth engagement in Collaboration and Prevention Board activities including collaborating with school staff and community members to support youth efforts in schools and the community.
  • Prepare documentation, materials, and reports required for Board publicity or by funders, and ensure reports are submitted on time.
  • Assist in writing grant proposals, reports, concept papers and other materials needed to obtain continued/increased funding and community support.
  • Assist funding sources in developing and managing the budget.

PREFERRED:

  • Ability to understand and prepare grant applications.
  • Experience in project management and/or strategic planning such as program development, developing and evaluating outcomes, conducting data analysis and evaluation, developing operations and marketing plans and developing timelines.
  • Understanding/working knowledge of youth-serving systems and agencies.
  • Ability to work with youth boards and representatives.
  • Familiarity with local community; experience with prevention efforts in this community.
