The Software Development Manager is responsible for designing and delivering business-focused system, solutions, processes and associated standards, and for working with developers and vendors to ensure that all technology initiatives are implemented within the existing or planned technology architecture and framework. These positions are responsible for both mainframe and distributed computing environments' delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of application architects, developers, and engineers to design and implement robust cloud-based software application and integration solutions
- Lead the Application and Integration Architecture principles to ensure technical quality, governance, and operationalization of integration opportunities
- Build an effective development organization by driving the recruiting and hiring of senior level engineers, developing and managing the group, and conducting performance reviews of team members
- Design application development and integration architectures and implement APIs, ETL processes, and web services to integrate various systems
- Proficiently manage and own development team’s application portfolio, cloud architecture, integration, and data design in support of the overall business technology solutions
- Cultivate a “security first” approach to application architecture design and development
- Implement best practices for application and integration development and create reusable components to improve efficiency and reduce development time
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that software application and integration solutions align with the overall IT strategy
- Monitor and manage the development budget and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Stay up-to-date with the latest application integration technologies and tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10 years of experience in designing and implementing application development and integration solutions, with expertise in app modernization
- 5 years of experience in managing cross-functional teams required
- Experience with software application development, integration architecture design, API development, ETL development, and web services development is required
- Experience leveraging native cloud capabilities on Azure, AWS or GCP to deliver highly scalable and secure technology solutions
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor senior developers, architects and engineers
