The position is accountable for team development and driving performance in safe, efficient construction in an integrated manner with other department and refinery team members. This job description is intended to provide an overview of the position and does not include all the tasks that might be required to support the job requirements. Ensures construction reviews, work packages and risk assessments meet appropriate standards, including construction input during early phases of project development to support scoping and design Ensures proper scope documentation and specifications are in place ahead of contract award, development of schedules, estimate validation and contracting strategies and execution. Coaches, mentors, and ensures proper subject matter technical support for construction team members. Ensures proper field construction supervisory resource levels and assignments across the construction portfolio. With supervision of construction activities, drives integrated construction coordination/communication across refinery departments and construction contractors, tracking and reporting of cost and schedule plan versus actual progress and work compliance with scope, specifications, and quality practices. Champions safety leadership across department, refinery, and contractor team members to drive strong culture and excellence in HSSE performance. Monitors backlog, future work, bottlenecks and proactively reduces safety risk and drives out inefficiency and unnecessary delays through tight communication and proper construction planning and execution. Scope of work includes project and program execution and assigned turnaround execution including pre- and post-TAR scope. Acts as a site expert practitioner in contractor management, including roles as a Contract Accountable Manager (CAM), with an emphasis on a high performing, integrated site team across disciplines and departments. Actively seeks out better processes, tools and techniques while ensuring planning and construction lessons learned are captured and implemented to drive improvements. Develops plans and leads execution of logistics and facilities activities required for site projects and turnarounds. Qualifications: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States High school degree or equivalent required Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or an Engineering discipline would be an asset Minimum of 10 years of experience in project, turnaround and/or maintenance planning and construction Experience successfully leading planning and construction of complex, critical scope to meet challenging business requirements working across a large organization Proven track record of excellence leading a strong HSSE culture and performance Working knowledge of construction and TAR processes and project controls Strong communications and teambuilding skills Budgeting and strategic planning experience would be an asset Previous supervisory or team leader experience would be an asset Refinery or relevant industry experience and familiar with industry practices, codes, and standards For Internal Candidates Only: Those that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.
