About this opportunity:
As a member of the US Refined Products Marketing Finance team, this individual will provide support to the US Downstream business unit to manage the financial performance of the business unit.
This position works closely as part of an integrated team to ensure the company’s financial transactions are handled promptly and with quality. This individual will perform business analytical, reporting and accounting functions, business process development and improvement functions, contribute to business unit initiatives, and function as liaison on corporate processes with a variety of groups including Downstream Reporting, Budgeting and Planning and Commodity Supply and Marketing in support of our US fuels marketing teams.
This role is an individual contributor that reports to the Sr Manager of Finance and Accounting in the Dublin, Ohio office.

This role is an individual contributor that reports to the Sr Manager of Finance and Accounting in the Dublin, Ohio office.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate accounting of assigned books through monthly accruals, actualization, reporting, and analysis through collaboration with the business and exercising healthy professional skepticism
- Ensure the delivery of a cohesive explanation of business results including quantitative and qualitative components for discussion
- Support monthly and quarterly reporting requirements and the submission of long-range plans, quarterly forecasts, and mid-month estimates in partnership with the Front Office and other partners within the Commercial Finance group
- Prepare journal entries to inventory accounting and cost allocations, profit allocations for tax, and monthly intercompany consolidation reclassifications
- Prepare monthly estimates and quarterly forecasts to include variance analysis against budget. Develop and explain operational drivers behind variances by working with the business
- Drive the change initiative of developing relevant performance measurement reporting and analysis, including KPI development through collaboration with the Front and Middle Offices
- Prepare and ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts
- Government and other regulatory body reporting
- Ensure best practices in business processes and related documentation. Documentation, development and maintenance of financial analysis reports and tools to track performance versus market benchmarks, forecasts and budgets. Develop quantitative and qualitative explanations of operational results for discussion
- Approving upon current processes proactively and providing solutions on paths forward for Finance Accounting team
- Assisting with and managing month end close processes with team
- Maintaining Sox Controls and policies with reporting and making sure we meet those controls
- Collaborate in all future-centric initiatives; manage change required through all relevant aspects (people, process and systems)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business required; CPA/MBA considered an asset
- Experience using ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) and SAP considered an asset
- Experience in oil and gas and/or downstream refining or midstream considered an asset
- Dynamic experience in financial analysis with a focus on margin analysis and cost accounting
- Exceptional skills in effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, often under pressure and within rigid time constraints
- Advanced Excel and other computer skills with the ability to work within multiple systems and applications
- Ability to identify and resolve problems with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent business writing and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate across business functions in an effective and professional manner
- Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various subject areas to achieve goals
