Worker Type: Employee Group: Engineering - Superior Department Job Post End Date: 02/09/2023 The Process Control Lead position is in the refinery Technical Services Department and will be responsible for the supervision of the process control group consisting of controls engineers, controls technicians and OT support of the process control environment. The process control lead will be responsible for developing strategic plans, management policies, and procedures for the process control environment in addition to supporting daily operations of the refinery control systems. The Process Control Group Lead will work closely with the process, optimization, operating and maintenance teams to develop and maintain a reliable process control environment and direct the process control group's activities to optimize refinery operations and profitability. Responsibilities will include development and execution of control system reliability (DCS, SIS and PLC), MVC/Optimization, alarm management, and control system performance monitoring programs. The Process Control Lead will be responsible for developing and managing the process control budget, identifying vendors to perform process control project work, managing the technical aspects of vendor support contracts and administrative/HR activities for the process control group employees. Develop strategic plans for the process control environment and personnel to enhance/optimize plant operations, address equipment reliability/obsolescence issues, and incorporate new technology where appropriate. Develop Standards and policies for the process control environment. Manage process control projects and process control aspects of other refinery projects to ensure that the necessary process control expertise and standards are available and properly applied. Personnel Development, ensure that direct reports continue to learn and grow their technical and soft skills to fit their role and career goals. Develop documentation, Best Practices and capture Lessons Learned for the process control environment. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering recognized by ABET - with process control emphasis is desirable 6 years' experience in digital control system management within heavy industry DCS Project Design, Management and Commissioning experience Process Control Optimization experience, Analytical and Alarm Management Previous oil and gas related experience or refining / petrochemical experience Understanding of basic project management fundamentals, project economics, support, and execution Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and leadership skills Preferred Qualifications: Professional Member (PE) registered with State of WI DSPS Any other certification s like CAP, Cyber Security, SIS Process Control Supervision or other Supervisor experience DeltaV Version 14.3 & Live Plant, PLC, SIS and SCADA knowledge Other Application Interfaces with IT-OT-MIS space Process Engineering Experience in an Oil/Petrochemical or related facility Demonstrated computer skills in process modeling software, Microsoft office and other database type applications. Proven capability to explore and learn new programs.
