Staff Vice President, Information Technology – Site Reliability Engineering
Position Purpose: Oversee department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals.
About This Role:
• There is a major initiative supported by Centene to develop a production support and Site Reliability engineering organization within the Enterprise Business Platforms (EBP) team. This organization is accountable to drive consistency, scalability, system reliability, cost reduction and operational excellence improvements to create a positive impact on our business’ user and member experiences.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Develops budgets and priorities, ensuring plans and resource allocations are consistent with those budgets and priorities
- Coordinates for the plans and activities of the organization with senior leaders inside and outside IT, as well as strategic suppliers.
- Anticipates and analyzes the needs of customers and recommend and develop priorities for feasibility studies, systems design, and implementation to develop new and modify the company’s information processing systems and policies and procedures.
- Applies and creates processes and business expertise to impact BU results.
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering organizations and concepts.
- Experience with toil reduction and operations automation initiatives.
- Experience in finding and mitigating observability gaps and in developing and executing strategies around application observability end event correlation
- Experience in Major Incident, Systems Event Response and Disaster Recovery strategy.
- Experience working with automation, observability and correlation platforms like Splunk, Dynatrace, Moogsoft, BigPanda, Operata and in creating in-house tooling for similar capabilities.
- Acts as a key member of the team defining current and future SRE strategic direction.
- Leads multiple teams of engineers and analysts who will drive SRE activities and collaborate with Engineering, infrastructure and Ops teams daily.

Salary : $178,500 - $338,800
