Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services to patients in need. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions to patients, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities
- Observe and document patient progress, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with occupational health principles and practices
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Proficient in conducting assessments and using appropriate therapeutic techniques
- Knowledge of acute care settings and experience working with medical imaging is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
