Position Summary
Center For Family Services is seeking a full time Court Liaison for our YES Children's Shelter. The YES Shelter provides short-term shelter care for male and female youth ages 13-17. The Court Liaison links assigned clients to resources in the community and maintains relationships and a working knowledge of available resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport YES shelter clients to court
- Conducts individual case management sessions for each assigned client
- Ensures each client completes Life Skills plan
- Coordinates with IFC for an Individual Service Plan for each youth
- Acts as a Liaison for the court, providing reports on the youth and their needs and any presenting concerns that the court should be aware of

Attends case conference meetings weekly

Makes advocacy calls to DCPP, schools, parents, relatives, medical personnel and others on behalf of the youth

Arranges family and caregiver visitation for the youth in accordance with the Family Team, Courts, DCPP approvals and requests

Ensures each client has the necessary basic necessities for clothing

Transports youth to preplacement interviews, medical and other appointments as needed
- Ensures all client files are completed with case management plans and notes as well
- Ensures youth has medication and advocates with parents for the youth's needs
- Makes referrals to alternate programs
- Remains in ratio and supervises and engages the youth
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or other related field
- At least two years experience working with program population and one-year experience providing group counseling. Experience with courts and building relationships with youth can be substituted for education
- Current New Jersey driver's license with a driving record of at least three years
- Must pass CFS criminal background checks and CARI/CHRI, as required by funder and licensing agent for specific programs pertinent to this position
- Must pass and maintain compliance with CFS Motor Vehicle Report.
- Must pass CFS drug screening and Pass a physical examination, including TB test
- Must maintain automobile insurance coverage if driving a personal vehicle.
