Job Posting for Caseworker - Education Liaison at Center for Human Development

The Educational Liaison (liaison) maintains on-going contact with all partners involved in ensuring that youth have access to, are engaged with, and benefit from their right to public education. The liaison contacts the child/youth’s school the first business day after intake to obtain the necessary schoolwork to keep the child/youth from falling behind. At the earliest feasible date, the liaison ensures the child/youth returns to their home school. The liaison develops a plan supporting educational attainment at intake and incorporates education goals in the Treatment Plan.

In order to maintain a child in their home school, the liaison will arrange temporary transportation by CHD until other arrangements can be made. If for reasons of safety, a child is unable to attend their home school, the liaison works with the school district to ensure that complete, age- and grade-appropriate educational services are provided at the Emergency Residence according to DESE curricular standards and that the child does not lose academic credits.
